Copyright notices and counter-notices

Post only work you made or have the right to share (Community rule 5). If your work was posted on Werkhaus without your permission, send a notice below. If your post was removed after a notice and you believe that was a mistake, the counter-notice is the route. This page is not legal advice.

Notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. 512) go to our designated agent, by this form or by email.

Send a copyright notice

A complete notice (17 U.S.C. 512(c)(3)) has every element below. An incomplete notice is answered with what is missing and nothing is removed until it is complete. Plain reports of someone else's work that is not yours go through Report a concern instead.

Knowingly false notices carry liability. Under 17 U.S.C. 512(f), a person who knowingly and materially misrepresents that material is infringing can be liable for damages, including costs and attorney fees, to the person whose material was removed and to Werkhaus.
We act within 2 business days of a complete notice.

Repeat infringers

Valid notices that are not countered count as copyright strikes, kept apart from Community rule strikes. Three in twelve months end Community posting and uploads for the account; the render tools are not affected. A notice found to be clearly false restores the post at once.

Records of notices and counter-notices are kept for three years after the case closes.
